Behind-the-Scenes Beauty: Keeping Your Getting-Ready Space Perfect for Photos

One of the most overlooked parts of wedding photos? The getting ready moments. These photos capture some of the sweetest memories with your bridal party and family—but they can also unintentionally capture the clutter and chaos of the morning. From half-zipped bags on the floor to coffee cups on countertops, little messes can sneak their way into your photos.

The good news? With just a few simple steps, you can keep your space looking fresh, clean, and ready for photos.

Here are our top tips:

1. Set Up Bridal Party Bags

Give each bridesmaid or groomsman a designated bag for all of their things. This keeps makeup, snacks, water bottles, and random items from spreading across the room. When everything has a home, the space stays much neater.

2. Create a Designated Drop Zone

Pick a corner of the room—or even a separate space—where everyone can put their personal belongings. Having one “catch-all” area means it’s easier to keep the rest of the room clutter-free and photo-ready.

3. Assign Someone to Tidy Up

Choose one member of your bridal party (or even a trusted family member) to keep the space in order quietly. Their job is simple: straighten up throughout the morning so your photos stay beautiful and stress-free.

4. Think Ahead With Your Details

Lay out your dress, veil, shoes, invitations, and accessories neatly before the photographer arrives. This not only makes for stunning flat-lay shots but also ensures nothing gets lost in the shuffle.

5. Communicate With Your Bridal Party

Remind your bridal party that lots of photos will be taken in the getting-ready space. A quick “hey, let’s all keep things tidy for pictures” goes a long way in keeping the room organized.

Getting Ready!

Your getting-ready photos should be filled with smiles, excitement, and joy—not clutter in the background. With a little planning, you can make sure the focus stays on you, your bridal party, and the beautiful memories being made.
